I might look happy though
But,
In front of my eyes are the walls of slavery.
I might look happy though
But,
Inside my every story there is a pool of blood.
I might look happy though
But,
Inside my soul there are memories of martyrs.
I might look happy though
But,
Inside my single smile there is a sigh of broken promises.
I might look happy though
But,
Inside my every nerve there is a widow shedding her tears.
I might look happy though
But,
Inside the darkness there are women being rapped by saviors.
I might look happy though
But,
The rise of the dawn starts with the wounds of torture.
I might look happy though
But,
The sun sets with the horror of another death.
I might look happy though
But,
The Freedom of life is being caged by the brokers of humanity.

Again a Suicide. Why? – By Rahat Farooqi

hanging_death-750x400 copy

A Class 10th student (a girl) is committing a suicide after failing in a golden test. Was it a golden test of her life? What caused her to take such a rattle step? These questions must be answered, who’ll answer these questions? Her parents her teachers, her friends, her relatives or the society we are living in?

I’ve noticed one thing, whenever such news came in daily newspapers we read it just like ordinary news. Why don’t we pay any heed to such an irresponsible act by a human being? Why did we take it lightly? Being a human we can’t even think about committing a suicide and how can one go and just kill himself/herself? Well, everything is a reason behind and what’ll be the reason for committing a suicide? Have you ever think about that while reading or listening such a type of news and after finding the reason have you ever tried to act against that? Who will come forward to stop this grave sin from our society?  Isn’t our responsibility to stop people committing such sins? If yes, then act. If your answer is no, and your eyes are on your leaders then listen. Political leaders won’t do anything to stop such major sins because they are not finding it political they all are busy in making a fool of their own people. So, how could one expect that these leaders will act against this and remove this sin from the society? “Getting freedom is an easy task, but removing sins from society is really a big deal”. People are committing such grave sins and it’s our duty to educate our people our friends about such grave sin and if you ever find anyone feeling hopeless, lonely or frustrated, try to talk with that person try to know the reason of his/her hopelessness, maybe you could become a reason to save a life from Hell Fire.

Now, why students commit suicide?  Who is responsible? “Look at Mr. someone’s son/daughter; he/she has cracked IAS/CET or whatever. Has been selected for MBBS/ Engineering or whatever. How intelligent his children are, and look at you. What have you achieved so for”? How many of you have faced this kind of torture?  And if a child shows no interest in these fields, this is how parents react. “You will never do anything in your life, you just know how to play cricket, write songs, stories, wasting time in reading novels, watching movies”. Such a hard time to face.

Tell me dear parents; are MBBS and Engineering only modem to live a happy life?  Do you think Doctors and Engineers are the only creatures with IQ of about 100? Do you think only these creatures have a right to live? Do you think only these creatures are having manners, a good character etc? Do you think securing cent% marks in the examination is knowledge?

Aren’t we so unfortunate that we have to call you our parents? Believe me I sometimes think so. Do you think failure is a crime? Do you think if your child fails in any examination ruins his/her future, ruins your image as his/her parent? Anyone can secure cent%0 marks, but knowledge cannot be gained by securing cent% marks. Failure is not the end of life or future, it is a beginning of your bright life & future. But, unfortunately, no parent understands this fact. When a sucking child alone in a room, tries to take his first step for getting something, the child slips and fell down. You didn’t go to say him/her that the kid of your neighbor walks better than you, why can’t you? Compare that room with the world and that something with the goal of your child. You will get the answer, what I actually want to express.

Mental Torture, Mental disturbance in our youths is spreading like smoke in the air. After hearing the height of mental torture from “now” one of my friends,  I wonder how can a father feel good by not giving his son a note of 40 rupee for a haircut Or 10 for fares? He has money to buy a pack of Cigarette which costs not less than 40 or 100 but when it comes to a haircut of his child or fare he has an excuse ready “I have no money this time or I’ve no money arrange it by Yourself”. When his child has an age to develop himself into an educated person, he has to quit his studies. Not by his own will but by the behavior he is facing by his father at home and from the very young age he has to look for a job as a salesman and anything else like that. When he was in a need of love, care, courage, and help, unfortunately, what he gets is the hatred, rebuke at every step and sometimes a father quit talking to his son. Which forces him to think wrongly about his parents, forces him to take drugs, sit alone in the room. Some have a power of tolerance some don’t have and then sometimes the story ends on a tragic note of suicide. “Mental torture causes more damage than a physical torture” not only to the brain but health as well. Drug abuse in youths is the reason for mental torture. “A sweet talk by father removes all the pains and stress of a child”. Dear parents if your child is failing in examinations just talk to them, parents mostly a father must be friendly with their children’s, try to know what fields are they interested in, try to know what makes them happy your children’s life is not yours.  You don’t have to live his/her life. “Let them be themselves the masters and teachers of their lives” and you the helpers. Do believe in your child “like we believe in tomorrow” because when we believe, we sleep recklessly. And save your children from killing themselves.

NOTE TO REMEMBER: “Life is a struggle do achieve your goals by a struggle, when you achieve thing by struggle you get to know the real meaning of life”. – Rahat Farooqi

Keep hope alive in the heart “One day you’ll achieve the goal of  your Life”. What people are saying on your back. Never pay a heed to that.

YOUR ‘DIARY’! – by Kavita Sharma (Guest Post)

diary copy

Don’t cry like this every night.

It hurts.

Your tears falling on me makes me cry too.

I love your smile.

My pages smiles whenever they see your 3 inch smile.

Your shining eyes add more colors on me.

Your touch, your kiss, your hug, gives me Goosebumps.

Am I really special to you?

Might be a ‘Yes’.

That’s why you spend your sleepless nights with me.

I was blank.

But you gave me colors, poured all your emotions.

I know, I am the one with whom you share everything.

You share your deepest secrets with me.

Am I your best friend or a soul mate or just a diary for you?

The ink of your pen soothes my pages.

My pages were mortal.

But you made them immortal with each passing night.

You made me fall for you.

I am not just a diary; I am a part of your life.

The part which is hidden from this outer world.

We spent every night with each other.

And we will continue this every night.

I’ll always be there as a best friend.

As a lover.

As a sister.

As a brother.

And as a diary for you.

Your ‘diary’ promise.

Little things that make life great…

Guest Post Alert!

Submitted by : Swati Dash

It is said that the best things in life are for free. Life is filled with simple pleasures, the little satisfying effects, we never really anticipate, but always take great pleasure in. They are the gifts of life that we subconsciously celebrate in our own unique way. Something like a glorious sunset? Or an ice cream in the winters? What can be more comforting than a short sleep on your best friend’s shoulder? a dance in the rain? or a cup of tea on a silent night at terrace looking at the countless stars in the velvet sky? and sometimes money in your old jeans?
Most of us think that they miss out life’s great opportunities and ignore our eligibility towards these priceless small things that brings us happiness. What is so great about the little things in life? They are what we will remember and appreciate when we reflect on days gone by. If we neglect the joy of these little things what are we left with? It’s the daily struggles, the disappointments and the disasters that plop on our doorsteps when we least expect it. We tend to think of life as a passage of days, weeks, years and decades.
But, in essence, life is made up of moments. In this competitive world we often need to remind ourselves of what we have accomplished in order to achieve self satisfaction. But at the end, we should value those small little things that make life great.

If only forgetting was easy……

It was a stormy night, or so she thought. It certainly was windy, and also looked like it might rain. Time and again, a stray yellowed maple leaf would get entangled in her hair, and she would retrieve it with slow deliberation, and toss it to the raving winds.

It was a regular path, taken regularly, to complete a regular task, but
quite contrarily, this was not going to be a regular night, if, of course,
the word ‘regular’ had any meaning…

***

Jenny wrapped her shawl protectively around herself. It was beginning to get cold, and a drowsy mist suggested that the raindrops too were on their way.
She did not exactly dread getting drenched, but a walk through muddy puddles was hardly what she fancied. A few drops descended on her face as she looked up at the heavily clouded sky. Her heart suddenly skipped a beat, as a similar scene from a few years ago floated in before her eyes.

Hadn’t this been the first place where she met him? , she asked of herself. The wretch who made her suffer, who was also the person she loved with all her soul. How could she ever forgive, and more importantly, forget, him?

For, people who live inside your heart will never leave you, even if they themselves break your heart.

She had been a foolish seventeen year old then, full of romantic stories of the cupid and was easily impressed. Falling in love with a man nearly seven years elder to her, was easy, to say the least, and marriage, then, was a mere celebration of love, something that took place in every movie and mushy novel, and had nothing to do with responsibility. All marriages were happy marriages, since how could two people who loved each not be happy living together? , she had asked herself. She would have prevented a catastrophe had she asked anybody else.

How madly in love she was, and how easily awed by his mannerisms! And how triumphant too for having found the perfect man for herself at the mere age of seventeen! How happy, how delighted, how overjoyed with love!

Her joy, however, had proved too good too last. She could not recognize, in a few months of marriage, the devil she had consented to being wife to. Her joy broke down into sorrow when she came to know that there was a violent streak about him, a tempest of a temper and irrational views when it came to giving her the freedom she so desired.

She divorced him, but it was only after suffering 4 years of hell and
getting inerasable marks, both emotionally and physically. It had been a month since they parted ways, yet it was the torture of those painful memories that would not let her get on with life ‘normally’, and she feared that they never would.

***

Tears mingled with the raindrops on her face as a vivid picture of her life a month ago flashed before her eyes, making her shudder. She had lately started to become an emotional wreck and would often stop in the middle of the way when she found her eyes flooded, and give way to tears. However, today, she wiped her eyes and continued on her way.

However, the road did not seem to be familiar any longer. Wherever had she wandered off to? This certainly was not the way to her home. This path seemed to be almost deserted, except for a few startling movements in the bushes along the road. Fear flooded her. Something told her that she was being followed, but nevertheless, she could not fully believe in her conscience, since it often deceived her with a picture of her former husband, evil and malignant, charging towards her with a diabolic glint in his eyes. She was paralyzed with fear by now, but decided to run as she had never run before, to wherever the way may take her, since it seemed the only
logical thing to do. She ran for a good half an hour, not worrying that the path grew darker along the way, nor either that the rain battered down hard on her. She was determined to follow the path God had led her to, even if it led to her to the devil.

She eventually reached what seemed to be a large pool of light at first, but on further inspection, she saw it for what it was – a huge lamp post, underneath which stood a boy of about eight. She was startled at first to see him in this solitary place, but relaxed when she saw him smile sweetly.

“It is you I have been waiting for all night,” said he, “not that it is
particularly you. I knew it was somebody in distress.” Jenny, who very much detested the concept of ghosts, just as she detested marriage, took the child’s hand in hers, and oh, what bliss it was! What lovely bliss to feel the satisfaction of having someone by your side, to take in the love he radiates, to share with him her feeling of security! How reassuring to know that there is someone to accompany you when the path is dark and fearful!

This really was a strange night, she thought, never before have I lost my way here, and I am certain that there is not a path in the area that I have not travelled before. In silent reverie, in tender hopes, in thoughtful musing – every path has been taken before for a walk to appease violent sensations. And yet, here I am, walking this deserted path at a time which seems to be somewhere between midnight and dawn, with a mysterious companion whom I know nothing about.

But wait, have I not seen his face somewhere before? In a dream? In images inside the mind? In abstract patterns? In…..God??

Was he a savior, somebody divine?

“I’m not”, said the boy, who seemed to have read her mind. Jenny, startled by his sudden speech, drew a long breath to calm her mind. Meanwhile, the boy had started to speak again. “It is not me you have to think about,” said he, “It is you. Your life, has it not been in a mess for the past few years?
Recall. Try to recall- what went wrong? , and whose fault was it? Pain and suffering is what everybody gets, but a few of us get more than the share we deserve. Is it fair? No. But thing, is it worth learning something from?”

Here the boy stopped and looked innocently into her face for a while. Jenny tried to look away from his eyes, but there was something so powerful, so compelling about them, that try as she might, she could not look away. There seemed to be a bit of herself in them, but that could easily have been her reflection. The boy took a step forward, and smiling a bit, said, “No, I’m not going to vanish into thin air, as you think I will. Forget all about me, but remember my words – it is important that you begin a new life. Do not sit down to pity yourself. The darkness is only temporary – it does not stay forever.”

Before Jenny could even react, she had the strangest sensation of falling into oblivion, into darkness. Various images from her life flew into sight and vanished again – Jenny riding her first bicycle, laughing loudly and crying uncontrollably, Jenny on the day of her marriage feeling infinite bliss, and the days afterward-the tears, the emotional breakdowns and the violent arguing, and silently crying into the pillow thereafter.

She would try, but would never be able to find the deserted path again. Some things in life were best forgotten, she decided. For darkness was only the absence of light, it had no meaning if the term ‘light’ did not exist……….
