1322931530_1361539388.gif“We are loosing her…… One more shock.” My body responded to that electric shock but because my soul has lost the body, I was still dead. Doctor’s voices were slowly getting rejected by my ears and flash back of my life was now in front of my eyes.

“I am waiting for you outside in the car, do come.” I read the slip, he sent to me. I was getting ready for my wedding with him. We were about to spent whole life together but he wanted more time with me. Somehow I escape the crowd and reached to his car.

“If someone saw us like this I’ll be dead.” I said to Raj.

“Don’t worry; I’ll join you in the heaven.” He said.

“I have plans for our honeymoon. I want to visit my birthplace with you. The whole month there just you and………………”

I was thrown out of a misbalanced car and hit the divider. The last scene, I remember was her moist, red, swollen eyes, trying to come near me.

“I want to go back to Raj.” I told to the heavenly figure standing in front of me. Maybe he was the God.

“But your time has come, Shikha.” He replied.

“I can’t live without him.”

“You are already dead.”

I cried as loud as I can.

“Heaven is ready for you….” He said and left.

“Let’s try one more time….. 3-2-1… GO….” My heart jumped back from a long sleep.

“Pulses are back…. Heart is responding. That’s a MIRACLE.”

I heard that doctor’s were discussing about my lost legs outside the ward to Raj. He cried, I cried. Then he came in, wearing the fake smile. I too responded with the fake one.

He then hugged me. He hugged me as strong as he could. We both cried this time. No fake smile, nothing. Just a true feeling, that everything will be fine.

“Heaven is ready for you.” I remembered the god’s last words. Thank you God……

Race Against Time

Race Against Time

Time doesn’t stop for anyone, neither it did for razor. Razor wasn’t much of a believer but he prayed this time, for the first time, to win this race against time. He wasn’t sure what he had signed up for and there was no turning back. Razor had a little hope, a ray of light amidst the darkest of places.

With Leila’s soul in his hand he made a run for it. Leila’s soul was divine as she herself was. She was the purest of all people razor ever found in his life. Yes Leila was the love of his life & to return her soul to the other side was his sole purpose for now.

He ran as fast as he could, dodging the obstacles in between. He was focused & determined to beat the time. But time is the vanquisher, the conqueror. Razor’s fast steps lagged slightly to time’s impeccability. The portal’s size grew smaller with every fraction of passing time.

Razor realized what he had to do. He raised his hand & threw Leila’s soul towards the portal. With a trailing path it crossed the portal fractions before the portal closed completely. Standing amidst the darkness razor watched the diminishing portal with a bright smile on his face. The race was over!

Waiting for a bus to Noida at Kale Khan Bus stand sometimes becomes really painful. But we should thank god for making a very good time pass for boys, staring girls. I was busy in enjoying this blessing of god while standing there. I was busy in rating girl’s view. Firstly I saw a girl from back. She was looking great, I rated her 8 out of ten but when she turned that 8 became 5. Then my eyes fall on another girl. She was 9 for me.

This all ended with the arrival of my bus. I picked up my luggage and ran in full speed to fetch a seat in the bus but all ended in vain and all seats got occupied. The bus having the capacity of 50 was filled with 100. There was no space left in between two person standing adjacently. I was struggling to stand properly and in the meanwhile from nowhere came the conductor. I gave him the money and finally got myself settled properly.

In no time I again started to work on the god’s blessing and started my search seat by seat. There was only one girl and she was the one I rated 10. Gorgeous was her look, splendid was her dressing sense and marvelous was her style. My eyes were watching a goddess in that girl. Generally my eyes don’t stare a girl for more than a glimpse but this time my eyes were behaving differently.

She was sitting on a window seat; her hairs were blowing in air as if wind was fighting to touch her. She was feeling uncomfortable with her hairs but wasn’t closing the window.

Suddenly she stood from her seat and started to struggle to make her way out of the bus. Slowly she was coming to my position as I was standing near the gate. After some time she was just near me. Her eyes caught my act of staring her, so I broke the eye contact. Then she passed my position, while doing this her hand touches my leg. Oh, I was in heaven. Then she boarded out of the bus.

I was sad. I don’t know why but this was happening with me for the first time. Is that what people call ‘Love at first sight’? I don’t know?

When I was thinking all that someone shouted in bus “Conductor Saab, stop the bus. Someone has stolen my mobile.” Then another sound came “Oh shit, my purse also gone. Check all the passengers. Stop the bus”. In the meanwhile many passengers shouted and informed about their purses and mobiles. I searched for my purse and even my purse was gone.

Then the checking started. Passenger’s belongings were with nobody. Then I recalled that the only passenger who gone out was that girl. That means that girl was the thief. That means my first “Love” was a ……………………

The Con Who Loved Me

The con who loved me

I jumped over the brawny fence to square him on the next street. But he was way too fast to be trapped that way. I tried to match his agility and followed his lead. Just a little faster and there he was, in my grip. He took a sharp left & I swayed my hand. Missed by inches! I regained balance & rushed again in his direction. Left-Right, Right-Left, many more turns but I knew where we were heading. A quick right and there he was , facing the wall. A dead end!

He turned around & drew his gun. I wasn’t prepared for that but I reacted. A drop of sweat ran down his right eyebrow. His finger reached for the trigger. Our eyes met for the one last time and. . . . .BANG!

One hour later. . .

The heavy sounds of ambulance and police vehicles covered the lonely street. Every officer was busy investigating the crime scene. I was sitting silently in the far corner of the street covered in a blanket. Yes I was cold! I dislocated the bullet casing from my gun. Tears rolled down my eyes as I looked below. . . . .Six slots, Six bullets.

Murder on Lexington Street

Murder on Lexington Street

Walking past the pavement I realized something was wrong. The road ahead was unusually crowded and the lights beamed in the shallow night. My eyes crossed a speeding vehicle. The red-blue lights flickered and the horn blared vigorously. Suppressing my booming anxiety I asked a gentleman what it was all about. To my utter shock I came to know that there had been a murder on the next street.

I was three blocks away from my house. The unusual news triggered my speed and I paced towards my house. My mind was a little disturbed and I stumbled into a big guy coming from the other direction. He was one BIG hooded figure and seemed to be in a hurry so he moved on although I apologized. As he didn’t cared, i moved on.

Soon I was standing before my front gate calming my breath. I felt relaxed & reaching for my keys moved on to open the gate. I gasped at the sight of it! How the hell? My right hand was covered in blood without a single scratch on it!

the last journey

I hadn’t seen this beauty of nature before nor would i see in long future. Sun was going down the lap of horizon as if it was bidding goodbye to me. Birds were going to their nests, reminding me to reach at home as soon as possible because I always misinformed my child that stubborn boy’s father never come to home early. Cool wind was smashing my face so hard that I wasn’t sure I would be there for my next breath. First time I felt suffocated in this amount of air. I closed my eyes but the next moment I opened them because this might be my first and last chance to witness this loveliness of nature and I didn’t want to miss it.

Being a skydiver, decreasing distance of earth should have filled you with ecstasy. But if you have an inoperative parachute, increasing height of sky would threaten you to death. I was parting from this world as I was parting from the sky. With the great impact of the earth I departed this life.
