“A mild read.”
Almost There But Not Yet Arrived talks about the life Shashi who is, since birth, dictated about the importance of studying in life. His father sets the goals for him and asks him to fully submerge himself in studying. From there on, things doesn’t go in his favor as his loses the mark by inches every time.
This is Sandeep’s debut novel and he has done a good job with it. The writing style and vocabulary is quite good. Although the book exhibits a few errors here and there.
The build of the book is pretty slow. The story starts at a good pace but in between the reader loses interest(for a while). The story again gains the pace towards the ending. The final 50 pages acts as ‘Book Savior’.
The story holds a beautiful message. Sandeep has clearly done an inspirational job here. Right after Archie’s entry, the story starts regaining its pace. Archie’s blog entry was highlight of the book. That surely elevated a part of the story.
Overall, it was a good experience, but it could have been better. I would like to congratulate Sandeep for his first novel and would surely love to read his further titles.
